Как пример http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?fi ... &sec=focus
I PURCHASED a taxi coupon at KLIA at 9.15pm on Nov 28.
What a shock it was when I reached the waiting area to queue up for my taxi. The line was long and snaked its way around.
I had difficulty finding where the line began.
There were at least 200 passengers patiently waiting for their turn.
I had no choice but to join the very long queue as I had already purchased a ticket before exiting the arrival hall.
Tired and sleepy after a long flight, all we wanted was to get home to our loved ones as quickly as possible.
And the last thing we wanted was to wait.
In this case the wait was about one-and-a-half-hours.
I cannot understand why such a situation prevailed. It was a weekday (Wednesday) and it was not raining.
If this is the usual daily crowd, then something has to be done quickly to reduce the waiting time.
Nobody, including tourists and businessmen, welcomes such long waiting times.
Not only has the rakyat got to pay higher fares for the coupon taxi service but now we are inconvenienced because of the inefficiency of the system.
Surely we deserve a better deal.
If the single operator at KLIA is not able to cope with the increase in demand, then the Government should intervene by allowing other operators to provide a similar service.
The least the operator could do is to inform potential customers of the expected waiting time before the coupon is purchased.
I am sure many would have switched to alternative means of transport such as the rail express service if they knew of the large crowd and the long waiting time before they purchased the coupon. (Now I know why there is a signage in the baggage collection area to encourage would-be passengers to purchase taxi coupons before they leave the arrival hall.
Hopefully, the various authorities, including Malaysia Airports Berhad, SPAD, Transport and Tourism ministries, will look into this serious congestion problem to reduce the long waiting time.
In the final analysis, such problems will not arise if there is competition in the provision of taxi services from the airport to the city.
