Drunk driving and speeding has seen the New Year holiday death toll climb to 179, according to the Road Safety Centre.
It reported the first three days of the week-long year-end break had seen 2,131 people injured in road accidents.
On Saturday, 70 people were killed in 725 accidents. Another 831 were injured.
The road toll for the three days up until midnight on Saturday was 26 fewer than the same time last year.
The injury count was 230 fewer than 2006.
Interior Ministry permanent secretary Pongpayom Wasaputi said motorcycles had been involved in more than eight out of every 10 accidents.
Most accidents are occurring on straight stretches of secondary roads and between four in the afternoon and eight in the evening.
Surin has reported the most accidents up to Saturday with 25. Ranong was the only province not to register an accident.
