Additional travel rules
Minors (aged 17 years or under) not travelling with a parent/legal guardian must hold a "Power of Attorney" letter in Russian authorising permission to leave Russia.
Residents of South Africa may enter with travel documents that are valid on arrival.
Nationals of South Africa holding dual nationality are required to arrive and depart using their South African passport.
All passengers are required to have 2 unused passport pages for entry or departure endorsements.
Minors (aged 17 years and under) arriving in South Africa must hold a birth certificate showing the particulars of both parents. This does not apply to minors holding a valid visa issued by South Africa, minors in transit, or minors whose travel document includes the particulars of their parents. In addition:
Minors travelling with one parent must hold either an affidavit from the absent parent authorising the child to travel not more than 6 months old, a court order which grants full parental responsibilities or legal guardianship to the travelling parent, or the death certificate of the absent parent.
Minors travelling with an adult who is not their parent must hold an affidavit from their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) authorising the child to travel, copies of the identity documents of the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of the minor and contact details for the parent(s) or legal guardian(s). This includes school groups.
Minors travelling unaccompanied must hold an affidavit authorising the minor to travel (if only one parent has provided consent, a copy of the court order granting full parental rights must also be provided), a letter from the person receiving the minor containing their residential address and contact details in South Africa, a copy of the identity documents of the person receiving the minor and contact details for the parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
