Ciudad Perdida: The price is the same no matter what agency you go through...500,000. The company that I went with, Guias y Baquianos (or something), was great! There were only 4 of us and the guides were excellent! They were so funny and we had a great time with them. We taught them Yaniv (Israeli card game) and had a blast. Marron, the main guide, gave us a thorough history lesson about Colombia and the Lost City. William, who was mainly the cook, made us the most delicious food and in huge portions! The trek was difficult--several long uphill battles in the hot, muggy jungle. After the first day, you just accept that you're going to be dripping with sweat and by the 2nd day, you no longer even notice that your shirt is sopping wet. I highly recommend having a pair of long pants and long sleeve shirt that you wear once you get to camp and only during that time--keep it as clean as possible. The best feeling was getting to camp, showering, and then putting on those clean, dry clothes. Also, wear good hiking boots and if you have them, bring sandals with straps for the river crossing because you can't really do it barefoot as there are many sharp rocks. If you don't bring that type of sandal then you'll have to wear whatever shoes you have and then they're going to be wet for the rest of the time. The bugs at the first camp weren't so bad. It's in the evenings at the 2nd and 3rd camp that they get bad. And just accept that you're going to get bitten. You could bathe in DEET and it wouldn't make a difference. Obviously, pack as light as possible...don't forget a headlamp. Our guides did purify our water (I watched them pour it in), but I think the problem was that they didn't let it sit long enough and that's what got me sick. Good thing I had some Cipro. If your guide offers to do the trek in 5 days instead of 6, do it. That 4th day when you do two days worth of trekking in one day, it's really not so bad because you'll take a long break in between. It's better than having to stay at that camp another night and spending half a day doing nothing. If you're not in decent shape, I would recommend not doing the trek.
И вот нашла еще одно просто классное описание этого трека - с картинками . Тут уже все по дням и очень четко расписано, сколько подъемов, спусков... .
