Position Title: EPIDEMIOLOGIST, Public health Preparedness and Program
Employment Status: Full Time Employment, 2 year Contract. Negotiable for renewal after two years.
Primary Responsibilities: Provides professional epidemiology services to the Ministry of Health, RMI Government for the prevention and control of infectious disease outbreaks, including the purposeful release of biological agents as acts of terrorism.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
o Develop and provide management an ongoing infectious disease surveillance and response system, including syndromic reporting.
o Provide assistant to Statistics and Planning Office on all Epi related issues
o Provide assistant to Bureau of Primary Health Care on all Epi related issues
o Assume responsibilities of Program Coordinator and for the MOH Smallpox Response Plan, and Voluntary Pre-Event Smallpox Vaccination Plan.
o Assist the Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program Coordinator in the development of the Infectious Disease hazard-specific annex of the MOH Emergency Operations Plan and provide general epi expertise to the BT Preparedness Program.
o Present to media and community organizations as Department of Health infectious disease spokesperson.
o Establish a disease outbreak/epidemic investigation and response team (Epi-Team), and lead disease outbreak investigations
o Develop a territorial infectious disease surveillance manual
o Assist MOH in the drafting of an Emergency Health Powers Act.
o Collaborate with the MOH Statistics and Planning interpretation of health data, including surveillance data.
o Provide up-to-date information on infectious disease agents, including those most
+ likely to be used in acts of bioterrorism, including information on detection, clinical management, and incident control, to medical staff, public health staff, and first responders.
o Assist the Ministry of Health to strengthen its diabetes surveillance and control programs.
o Serve on the RMI Epi-Net Advisory Committee
o Assume other professional epidemiology related duties and responsibilities as requested by MOH.
