Знающие подскажите пожалуйста, еду в Паттаю, беру с собой ноут. но в подключениях я не силен, вот допустим поймал мой ноут сеть wi-fi, какие дальше в ноуте нужно делать манипуляции чтобы в выйти в сеть? может где ссылка есть, просто ни разу не проделывал подобных операций, Сильно не ругайте.

Самый простой совет - попробуйте разок подключиться у себя на родине до отъезда (здесь ничем не отличается), потом отдыхать надо, не до разборок с компом будет.

Перво-наперво включить "выключатель беспроводной сети" - кнопка на торце или боковой стенке ноута.
Кликаешь левой кнопкой на беспроводное соединение внизу экрана и выбираешь список доступных сетей... запускаешь браузер....

подскажите пожалуйста на что можно рассчитывать в смысле полностью "честно" бесплатного вай-фай в патайе, то есть чтобы можно было просто так прийти с улицы и пользоватся, пусть даже с какими то ограничениями?

Уточните, что надо. Карта доступа с логином или карта памяти, поддерживающая технологию Wi-Fi, которую в комп втыкают.
Если последнее, то купите неподалёку от Паттаи в Сри Рача. Там есть Плаза, по типу Понтипа. Ехать туда по 3 дороге, на Север. По Сукумвиту на маршрутке или мотиком. Ехать минут 15.

The first gogo bar to have wi-fi! Misty's is in Soi Pattayaland 2 in Pattaya, that's the soi with all the neon. It will be interesting to see how popular it is in such an environment. Please note that the free wi-fi is ONLY available during the day time and at night it is turned off.


Lewinsky's
Soi Pattayaland 1, Pattaya.

They have free wi-fi as well as good food and all the English language newspapers. It has been described as a great place for newcomers to come to find organized golf as well.

There is an open wi-fi hot spot in the cafe on the ground floor of The Penthouse Hotel. I suspect that the previously reported Hot Spot in The Shamrock Bar may be leakage from the Penthouse Hotel. Latest report is that it is free for customers of the hotel only. I guess that means there is a password needed...

Great coffees, farang / Thai food, air-conditioning, ice cream, and cute waitresses. Open 9 AM - 9 PM daily. There are many tables as well as a pleasant terrace outdoors. This is my FAVOURITE place for breakfast in Pattaya - the English breakfast at 100 baht with great thick chunks of toast, real coffee and a damned good English style sausage is one of the highlights of a weekend in Pattaya for me! Note August 2007: The wi-fi connection is password protected and the staff had no idea what the password was!

They have 2 excellent open connections, both described as having great speed. The university is quite small but there are many adjacent farang businesses so perhaps the signal comes from there.

The Shamrock now has it's own free wireless hot spot and computer - totally free of charge!


Lennie's Bar
Soi Diamond, first bar on the right when coming from Second Rd., or last bar on the left when coming from Walking Street; directly opposite Casino Club.

Apart from offering free wireless internet, they also have a stationary Internet PC with CD burner and card reader available for guests - now that is customer orientated!


Ma Maison Hotel
Near soi 13, Pattaya.

Has a nice restaurant, if a non-guest wants to sit and surf while having a drink or a meal.


Tropical Bert's
2nd road, just before Soi 6, opposite Bangkok Bank.

Nice place, no hassle.


Pattaya Garden Apartments
Pratumnak Hill, Pattaya.

They offer free wi-fi to guests but it is password protected so you gotta ask for the password. The download speed is 512mbps and runs 24 hours / day. One reader said that there were great management and staff there too.

Free wi-fi is not offered by the hotel per se, but from a number of rooms in this hotel you can get one of about three different open signals, all of which have good speed. Tested and worked from the 5th and 6th floors. (It should be noted that the number of open wi-fi signals in Pattaya is increasing greatly and simply turning on the wi-fi feature on your laptop in many hotels, especially those in areas with lots of bars and restaurants, may well see you finding a free signal).

Signs state that free wi-fi is now offered. Great, it is my favourite place for a coffee in Pattaya! You have to ask for the password and in early August it was 11111AAAAA.
