This is the long flight day so you will have a rest day in Mekele or (if you want to stay in Addis Ababa we will give you free city tour service.)
Day2 05/03/12 Monday
Drive to Hamed Ela
Enter the Danakil Dessert, one of the most remote places on our planet.
Arrive to Hamed Ela camp, overnight camping in the desert
Day3 06/03/12 Tuesday
Hamed Ela – Erta Ale
Start driving to Erta Ale volcano
Climb the volcano for a few hours
See the Lava Lake, one of three existent on the planet, overnight in camping on the Erta Ale Volcano
Day4 07/03/12 Wednesday
Erta Ale – Hamed Ela
In the morning if the weather is good, get another look to the Lava Lake
Get back to the Hamed Ela Camp
Visit the local Afar Huts and get to know thier nomadic lifestyle, overnight camping in the desert
Day5 08/03/12 Thursday
Hamed Ela – Dallol – Mekele
Trip to Dallol crater where the mineral rich land and the volcanic activity creates unbelievable phenomena
Visit the ancient salt miners of Lake Asale
Visit the Boiling Fountains which became a death trap for weary birds
Return to Mekelle, Overnight in Mekelle, Axum Hotel/Castel Hotel/ Milano Hotel
Day6 09/03/12 Friday
Mekele – Addis (flight)
We arrange one room for staying until your flight
Farewell dinner in traditional restaurant
