The Immigration and Visa Directorate in Russia aims to process 90% of non settlement visa applications within 15 working days, 98% within 30 working days and 100% within 60 working days. We aim to process 95% of settlement applications within 12 weeks and 100% within 24 weeks. This is in line with our Customer Service Standards. There are occasions when further checks are required and these processing times can be exceeded. The instances of this are minimal.
We are currently receiving very high volumes of applications. We are unable to expedite any applications unless there are exceptional, mitigating and/or compelling reasons to do so, e.g. a serious medical reason for travel. If it is not clear in your email that there is a serious or compelling reason for your urgent request your email will not be responded to. Pre-paid flight tickets or hotel bookings are not considered to be a compelling reason to prioritise an application.
We are also in receipt of a high volume of refund requests; please allow a minimum of 15 working days for your request to be processed.
If your query relates to an application where a processing time of 15 working days (dependent upon the type of visa application) has not been exceeded no response will be provided. This is to enable Visa Section colleagues to focus on processing outstanding applications. All applicants are advised to apply as early as possible and we advertise that an applicant can submit a visit visa application up to 6 months prior to their date of travel.
Furthermore, we offer the Priority Visa Service (PVS) at all Visa Application Centres in Russia. As applicant is eligible to apply under this scheme if they can evidence travel to the UK in the last 5 years. We also offer the Submission Without Passport (SWP) Service for Long Term applications (2 years and above) and Sports Person visa applications. Please check our website for further information.

If your query relates to a request for an Administrative Review of a Points Based System application you will not receive a response to your email unless the published 28 day review period has elapsed. You are of course free to make a fresh application, addressing the reasons you were given for the refusal, at any time.
