"Typhoon KELIMA"

At 1.00 p.m. today, the tropical storm “Lekima” in the South China Sea has intensified to the Typhoon. As of 4.00 p.m. then, Lekima, with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/hr, was centered about 630 km east of Nakhon Phanom Province or Lat 17.5 °N, Long 110.5 °E. It is moving west-northwest at a speed of 10 km/hr and makes the southwest monsoon intensify across the Andaman Sea, the Gulf and the South of Thailand. Abundant rain with isolated heavy falls is likely over the areas causing flash flood. People along provinces prone to disaster of Chanthaburi, Trat, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phangnga, Trang and Satun beware of the threatened severe weather. High wave is forecast over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore during 2-4 October.
More rain is expected in the lower and eastern side of the Northeast and later the North. Those provinces include Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
