If you fail to check your oversized duty-free liquids, they will not be permitted through the US checkpoint.

Собственно, так и поступил: купил 0.5 (больше в чемодан не помещалось) в Москве, провез в салоне до LAX, затем переложил в багаж, где он и долетел до SFO.
